TERMS AND CONDITIONS Effective Date: April 1, 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the BALTO platform operated by The Billiard Academy LLC ("BALTO," "we," "us," or "our"). By registering for and using BALTO, you agree to these Terms.
1. About BALTO BALTO (Billiard Academy League and Tournament Operations) is a platform for managing billiards leagues and tournaments. BALTO provides tools for player registration, handicap tracking, league management, tournament operations, and related communications.
2. Eligibility You must be at least 18 years of age to register for and use BALTO. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Account Registration To use BALTO, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information including your name, email address, phone number, and region. You are responsible for: providing accurate registration information; selecting the correct primary region for your participation; keeping your contact information current; maintaining the security of your account password; and all activity that occurs under your account. Providing false information, including an incorrect region, may prevent you from appearing in league and tournament player lists and may result in inability to participate.
4. Account Activation After registration, you will receive an SMS message containing an activation link. Your account must be activated via this link before you may participate in leagues or tournaments. The activation link expires after 24 hours. If your link expires, you may request a new one.
5. Email Verification Email verification is required after your first league or tournament participation. You must verify your email within 7 days of your first participation event, or before your next participation event, whichever occurs first. Failure to verify your email will restrict your ability to enter new tournaments or new league sessions until verification is completed. You will not be removed from any currently active league session.
6. SMS Consent and Messaging By providing your phone number during registration and checking the consent box, you agree to receive SMS text messages from BALTO. These messages include account activation, email verification reminders, league and tournament notifications, and operational alerts. Message frequency varies based on your activity. Active players may receive approximately 5 to 10 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any BALTO message. To opt back in, reply START. For help, reply HELP. Opting out of SMS may affect your ability to receive time-sensitive tournament and league notifications.
7. Handicap System Each player has one global BALTO handicap. Your handicap is calculated by the BALTO system based on your match history and is expressed as a numeric score. The following rules apply: your handicap is system-controlled once you reach an established status (sufficient match history); manual adjustments may be made by authorized league operators or tournament directors only while your account is in provisional status; all handicap changes are logged and audited; BALTO reserves the right to correct handicap errors.
8. Regional Participation Your ability to participate in leagues and tournaments is determined by your assigned region. Players must be assigned to the correct region to appear in operator player lists. Traveling players may add additional regions to their account to enable participation in other areas.
9. Conduct You agree to participate in all BALTO leagues and tournaments in good faith and in accordance with the rules established by your league operator or tournament director. Any attempt to manipulate your handicap, registration information, or participation records may result in account suspension or removal.
10. Operator Authority League Operators and Tournament Directors are authorized by BALTO to manage participation within their assigned regions. Their decisions regarding match scheduling, team assignments, and tournament operations are final within their operational scope.
11. Limitation of Liability BALTO is provided as a platform for league and tournament management. The Billiard Academy LLC is not responsible for disputes arising from match results, handicap calculations, or operator decisions. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
12. Changes to These Terms We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of BALTO after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
