This Privacy Policy describes how The Billiard Academy LLC ("BALTO," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information provided by users of the BALTO platform, including the website located at glacial-taiga-16507.herokuapp.com and any related services.
1. Information We Collect When you register for BALTO, we collect the following information: first name, middle name, and last name; email address; phone number; mailing address and state; region assignment (for league and tournament participation); and profile photo (optional). We also collect information related to your participation in leagues and tournaments, including match results, handicap scores, and performance data.

How We Use Your Information We use the information we collect to: create and manage your BALTO player account; assign you to the correct regional league and tournament operations; calculate and maintain your BALTO handicap; send SMS notifications related to account activation, league scheduling, tournament operations, and platform alerts; send email notifications related to account verification and platform activity; allow league operators and tournament directors to manage participation within their authorized regions; and maintain accurate records of league and tournament results.
3. SMS Notifications By providing your phone number and consenting during registration, you agree to receive SMS text messages from BALTO. These messages may include account activation links, email verification reminders, league match scheduling notifications, tournament alerts and operational updates, and handicap change notifications. Message frequency varies based on your activity level. Active players may receive approximately 5 to 10 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out of SMS notifications at any time, reply STOP to any BALTO text message. To opt back in, reply START. For help, reply HELP.
4. How We Share Your Information We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. Your mobile phone number and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with any third party. We share information only as needed to operate the BALTO platform:

Within the platform — League Operators and Tournament Directors are authorized users of BALTO who manage participation within their assigned regions. They access player information solely to run those operations on our behalf; they are not third parties and may not use it for any other purpose.

Messaging service provider — We use Twilio, acting solely as our service provider, to deliver our SMS messages. Twilio receives your number only to transmit our messages and may not use it for its own purposes. This is message delivery, not third-party sharing.

Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process.
5. Data Retention We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you wish to have your account and associated data removed, please contact us at the email address below.
6. Security We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing and are never stored in plain text.
7. Children's Privacy BALTO is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
8. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of BALTO after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

No Sharing of Mobile Information. We do not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with any third party. The only exception is our messaging provider (Twilio), which acts solely on our behalf to deliver messages and may not use your number for any other purpose. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for any purpose, and we do not sell, rent, or transfer it.
Message Frequency. Message frequency varies based on league activity, typically 5–10 messages per month for active players.
Message and Data Rates. Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier charges apply to all messages sent and received.
